Choosing the Right Sales Consultant

February 18th, 2026 by

Hi, I’m Marsha, the receptionist here at Wareing Sturgis Ford, and I’m trying my hand at blog posting for the first time.

Don’t tune out just yet — let me ask you one question.

Have you ever been given the opportunity to choose your own vehicle sales consultant?

We choose our doctor, our childcare provider, our pet groomer, financial advisor, insurance agent — even our hair stylist. But have you ever chosen your own vehicle sales consultant?

Probably not.

So who would you be directed to if you asked for the very best one?

Here’s what I’ve observed from my desk at the front of the store.

The very best sales consultant won’t sell you a vehicle if it’s not the right one for you.

And how do they know what’s right?

They ask questions — a lot of questions. They take time to visit with you. They listen carefully. They learn what that vehicle truly means in your life.

Is it your first purchase? An upgrade? A dream truck you’ve worked hard for?

Will you be hauling kids to practice, driving across the Black Hills, or pulling a trailer down I-90?

How many miles do you drive each year? Gas or diesel? How many passengers? What features matter most?

They learn your budget. They talk about leasing versus purchasing. They ask about your trade. And before they ever step foot on the lot with you, they understand your needs.

From my perspective as a receptionist, it’s a lovely thing to witness — the art of building trust. It makes me proud to see how much our team truly cares about our customers here in Sturgis.

Next time you visit a dealership, ask for the consultant who cares enough to ask questions.

And next time you’re at Wareing Sturgis Ford, let me introduce you to ours. I think you’ll see exactly what I mean.

Thanks for reading my first blog. Stop in and say hello — I’ve got so much more to share.
