Let Me Tell You About the Ford App

March 11th, 2026 by

Hi, I’m Marsha, the receptionist at Wareing Sturgis Ford.

I recently read this quote in a Forbes article:

“You don’t propose to move in with someone on your first date. Apps are a long-term commitment.”

I have to admit — I’m part of the 91% of people who hate being asked to download an app.

Digital coupons.
“Download the app to read more.”
Promises of updates.
“Connect with our community.”

All of it.

I will say, though, this past Christmas when Dad asked if I had Venmo… I almost caved.

But there is one app, dear Ford customer, that I truly want to tell you about.

I don’t just want you to sign up. I want you to understand the features. I want you to know the benefits. I want you to see what’s available to you — and then you can decide.

It’s the Ford App (formerly FordPass).

Let me explain with a few real-life scenarios.

You’re on a ski vacation at a beautiful snowy destination. You want to start your Explorer before heading out, but remote start doesn’t work from your third-floor hotel room.

With the Ford App, you can remote start your vehicle from anywhere.

You’re at work here in the Black Hills, and the weather is changing fast. You suddenly wonder, “Am I going to have to stop for fuel on the way home?”

With the Ford App, you can check your fuel level and miles to empty while sitting right at your desk.

You’re in the bleachers at a softball game when your son runs up and asks for the keys to the truck — he forgot his glove.

Instead of handing over the keys and holding your breath, you can unlock (and relock) the vehicle right from the app.

It’s Monday morning. A dear friend invites you to visit east river this weekend. Should you schedule an oil change before you go?

From your sofa, you can check your oil life and even book service at your preferred dealership. You can also view your reward points and apply them toward maintenance or parts.

All of these features are free. And the app is genuinely easy to install and use.

Honestly, my heart sinks a little when I hear customers decline our offer to help load and review the app.

There are so many additional features I haven’t even mentioned. The Ford App is like having a personal garage in your pocket — keeping track of your vehicle’s health and maintenance history.

If you don’t already have the Ford App (available on most 2020 and newer models), please stop by. We’d be happy to help you get it set up and walk you through it.

Thanks so much for reading. I look forward to your visit.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to call Dad and make sure he has the Ford App installed.
